Investigation Launched into Elon Musk’s Neuralink
Federal investigations are currently underway in the US on Elon Musk’s medical device company Neuralink, which is developing a brain implant to help paralyzed people regain their ability to walk and treat other neurological problems.
Internal staff complaints indicate animal welfare violations. According to sources, several employees at Neuralink insist that the company accelerates animal testing, resulting in pain and death.
The US Department of Agriculture’s inspector general recently launched an investigation at the request of a federal prosecutor. According to one of the people, the investigation will focus on cases of animal testing and treatment that violate animal welfare laws.
Elon Musk recently took to Twitter to respond to a video of a monkey engaging “telepathically” with a screen, saying how happy the animals were at Neuralink.
There was a problem within the company, according to Neuralink documents and interviews with 20 current and former employees. Although Neuralink passed all inspections, since the research began in 2018, the company has killed nearly 1,500 animals, including 280 sheep, pigs and monkeys.
The corporation did not accurately track the number of animals used and killed for testing, and the company also used rats and mice for the study.
While it’s common for businesses to experiment on animals and kill many in the process, employees at Neuralink claim lives could be saved if Musk didn’t expect fast results.
According to sources, Neuralink’s hectic schedule exposes workers to accidents, which makes life unpleasant for the animals
After his public leadership as the new owner of Twitter, it’s no wonder how Musk conducts himself. Musk often instructed Neuralink staff to speed things up and put more animals at risk. He is aggressive and authoritative.
