In an interview that has surfaced again since Kirstie Alley’s passing, she referred to John Travolta as her “biggest love.”
The 71-year-old actor co-starred with Travolta in the 1989 movie Look Who’s Talking. who passed away on Monday, December 5 following a brief illness.
In the movie, Mollie and James Ubriacco—played by Alley and Travolta—meet by chance when Mollie boards a taxi after giving birth.
Alley declared that she “loves” Travolta during a 2018 visit on Celebrity Big Brother UK.
She affirmed at the time, “I did love him; I still love him. “If I weren’t already married, I would have travelled by plane to marry him because he owns a plane.
The late actor also admitted to Howard Stern in 2013 that her feelings for Travolta were unique and that they were apparently reciprocated.
She added that John was “the biggest love of my life” and that it had taken her “years” to stop seeing him as a potential love interest.
Travolta was dating Kelly Preston at the time, while Alley was wed to Parker Stevenson.
In a different interview that same year, Alley admitted to Dan Wooton that staying away from Travolta romantically was “one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.”
She stated, “I was madly in love with him – we were fun and amusing together. [It was] the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make. “I wouldn’t cheat on my spouse, so it wasn’t a sexual relationship.
However, Alley continued, “I think there are things that are more worse than sexual connections, than betraying someone in that way. I think what I did was even worse since I allowed myself to fall in love with him and hold onto that love for a very long time.
Alley also acknowledged that she continued to make advances toward Travolta after his marriage to Preston up until the point at which she made it known.
Kelly approached me and asked, “Um, why are you flirting with my husband?” at that time they were already married. Added Alley. “And then, I guess, I had to make a choice, and that was pretty much the end of that,” the speaker continued.
According to her relatives, the Cheers actress passed away at the Moffit Cancer Center in Florida while surrounded by loved ones.
Travolta paid her homage on Instagram not long after she passed away.
He stated on Instagram, “Kirstie was one of the most special partnerships I’ve ever had. “Kirstie, you are loved. I am confident that we shall cross paths again.
