The Peaky Blinders:
One of Ireland’s best actors is Cillian Murphy, a Cork native who has made a career out acting by dividing his time between Dublin and London over the years. The 46-year-old Peaky Blinders actor maintains a high level of privacy in his personal life, saying in interviews throughout the years: “The less people know about me, the better.”
The popular BBC series film adaptation is slated to pick up where season six left off. The 46-year-old actor recently had a conversation with Digital Spy to give an update on the project. He was asked if production would start soon, and he replied, “Yes, I think so. Although I still haven’t read the script, the idea is to turn it into a movie and carry on the narrative there rather than on television.
“The story’s television portion is over. I’m there if there are any additional tales to share; I haven’t read it yet, but it seems to be close. It appears that the Irish actor won’t be doing away with his suspenders anytime soon. Fans have eagerly awaited the spin-off movie since the 81-minute season finale of the show back in April. It is anticipated to begin production in Birmingham, England, the following year.
Steven Knight, the creator of the show, acknowledged last October that he was writing the script for the feature during a speech he gave at the BFI London Film Festival. And that will probably signal the end of Peaky Blinders as we know it, he continued. Knight mentioned last month that a spin-off series was also in the works but that he would not be a part of it in an interview with BBC Midlands Today.
He decided to “pass on the baton” instead. He added that a new creative team would be in charge of the series, and it would probably take place in the 1950’s. Peaky Blinders quickly gained worldwide acclaim and fans after it premiered on BBC Two in 2013. It also won a few BAFTA awards along the way. The Peaky Blinders gang, loosely based on a real urban youth gang of the same name active in Birmingham in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, was the subject of the television series.
According to No Film School, some of the characters are also based on Knight’s Irish-Romani family, who frequently told young Knight tales of the Peaky Blinders and the life of crime they led. We do, however, know that the actor wed the visual artist Yvonne McGuinness in 2004 and that they have two kids together.
And in 2015, he invested €1.7 million in a magnificent home in the sought-after Monkstown neighbourhood of south Dublin. The magnificent historic home, built in the 1860s, is a protected structure with well-preserved Victorian features. The terraced house features a drawing room, six double bedrooms, and several original fireplaces.
The home’s initial listing depicts a living room with high ceilings, a big bay window, and a lovely fireplace made of wrought iron. The 3,444-square-foot house was permitted to be upgraded after it was purchased, so the family undoubtedly left their mark on the property. The sea is just a five-minute walk away from the coveted location, which is also close to a number of opulent amenities like yacht clubs, parks, and a number of highly regarded schools.
After living in London for 14 years, Cillian previously disclosed that the family returned to Ireland because his kids had “very posh English accents.” He explained to the Armchair Expert podcast why he chose to move back to Ireland: “We wanted the kids to be Irish. We decided to return because, he laughed, “they were kind of at that age where they were pre-teens, they had very posh English accents and I wasn’t appreciating that too much.
Since Cillian and his wife Yvonne enjoy cooking, watching movies, and listening to music at home, it stands to reason that their Monkstown home is the ideal setting for these domestic pursuits. Cillian previously admitted as much to GQ magazine.
