AN ATTEMPT OF ASSASSINATION ON VLADIMIR PUTIN, BLAMES ON RIVAL UKRAINE
AN ATTACK WAS MADE ON THE RUSSIAN PRESIDENT PUTIN – UKRAINE WAS BLAMED BUT THE RIVAL DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS
Russian President Putin was attacked on Wednesday. His secure residence Kremlin encountered a drone attack; two drones were shot down. Russia blamed their current rival Ukraine to which they reacted by saying they have nothing to do with the attack.
Although Ukraine denied the accusations Russia started its counter-attack by calling it an act of revenge and now Ukraine’s Kherson is filled with sounds of explosions. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy is currently not in the country and is said to have flown to Finland for a summit with Nordic countries.
The Russian president lives in several strongly secured residences and travels regularly around Moscow and properties in an upscale neighborhood kilometers away. According to Russian media accounts, Mr. Putin has spent more time at the estate or another remote outpost northeast of Moscow, around Lake Valdai, since the outbreak caused by the coronavirus. So that might be the reason why the place was selected for the attack.
In this attack, it can be seen that Putin’s residence inside the Kremlin compound saw two unidentified flying objects aiming at it and was then discovered to be drones. These drones were repelled as soon as they were identified said Russia.
Russian statement about the attack was as follows “Two unmanned aerial vehicles were aimed at the Kremlin”. And they added that timely actions taken by their military and special services with the devices were put out of action by their radar services.
Kremlin is a highly secured building with sophisticated technology to tackle any kind of attack and this time its electronic defense system has successfully disabled the drones before they could cause any bad damage. Claiming their right to strike back, Russia said they reserve the right to take revenge acts when and where they feel like it is fit.
Russia is serious about it but the world is asking for proof which are provided yet. There is only one video that is being circulated on Russian social media and it shows the device heading toward the dome of the building and as it nears, we can see the device burst into flames. Russia added that the President is safe and not injured as he wasn’t in there during the attack.
These attacks are not new to Putin; the Russian president has been the target of five such attacks in the past and none of them were confirmed by the government. The news has raised worldwide concerns about how Russia is going to react. Russia in its recent statement said that the only way they are looking at is the physical elimination of the Ukrainian president Zelenskyy.
But the major question that is stopping us from getting to a conclusion is – “whether it is true or not”. This news can be true or false and there is a separate explanation for both assumptions. This can be seen as a fake accusation or a fake play by Russia just to use it as an excuse to escalate the war situation between the two countries. This sounds like the most possible cause and that is because, in a recent statement, Russia made it crystal clear that they are going all the into physically eliminating Zelenskyy.
On the other hand, it might be true that Ukraine attempted to kill Russian President Putin; the Russian nation is against its invasion of Ukraine and it is only Putin and his team that is all in with the invasion. So, killing the president might be a move that will make Putin’s team a headless snake and with this explanation, it shows that there are possibilities of Ukraine going for it. And in a recent meeting, a statement made by Zelenskyy also make us think of possibilities; Zelenskyy said “I’m sure we will soon have an aircraft because we will soon conduct an offensive.
Ukraine is aiming on taking back the territories that Russia occupied. But after what had happened, if Russia escalates with its moves, then it is possible that Ukraine’s plans go flop as Russia doesn’t seem to give a chance for Ukraine to strike back. This issue that is going on right now has kept Zelenskyy on his toes even though the president is not in the country.
According to Russia’s new warning, the Ukrainian president is now their target. Zelenskyy previously said that he has survived more than a dozen such attacks in just the span of a year. This statement was made by him just days before the attempt to assassinate Putin.
If Ukraine is behind the drone attack, then it is definitely a bad move; Ukraine might be dumb to use drones against the fully secured Kremlin. And Ukraine must know that such a poorly planned move by them will trigger Russia to escalate the war.
Whatever might be the reason behind the issue, it is clear that Russia is not going to leave the matter the way it is and doesn’t look like it is going to hear Ukraine’s pleas. News of Russia’s next move is extremely awaited as that declares the plight of the ongoing wars between the countries.
