Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa, the woman who donated her kidneys, reportedly fell out after the latter responded to the singer’s recent statement about her friendship with Taylor Swift.
Following recent comments made by the singer in interviews, Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa, the actress who donated one of her kidneys, appear to have openly feuded. Gomez, who has been promoting her most recent AppleTV+ release, My Mind & Me, told Rolling Stone magazine that Taylor Swift is the only person she knows in the music business.
Raisa apparently took issue with Selena’s claim that Taylor Swift is the only true friend she has in the business when she reportedly left the “Interesting” comment on an Instagram post about the quotation before subsequently deleting it. Fans discovered Francia was no longer following Selena on social media after noticing her statement, though.
Fans quickly voiced their opinions on both sides of the issue. Some criticized Gomez for not thanking How I Met Your Father singer Taylor Swift for giving her a kidney, while others defended Gomez and clarified that her remark was about being connected to a superstar musician like Swift.
Regarding Selena and Taylor Swift’s friendship
The statement made by Gomez to Rolling Stone about never feeling too close to anyone in the industry but Swift was the one that prompted Francia to make her reply. She stated: “I was never accepted by a trendy clique of famous girls. I remember feeling like I didn’t belong since Taylor [Swift] is really the only buddy I have in the business.” Selena responded to Raisa’s tweet, which went viral, by stating, “Sorry I didn’t mention everyone I know.”
Francia and Selena’s friendship
Gomez and Raisa first crossed paths in 2007 while they were both visiting a children’s hospital, and they have been friends ever since. Following Selena’s Lupus diagnosis, Raisa gave the former Disney Channel star her kidney. Gomez posted about Francia’s organ donation in 2017 and included the following message: “There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude to my lovely friend Francia Raisa. She donated her kidney to me as the greatest gift and act of sacrifice. I am so unbelievably fortunate. I adore you a lot, sis.”
Despite the fact that Selena and Francia’s bond appears to have evolved over time.
