Timothée Chalamet portrays a softboy cannibal. :
In theatres this November is the road movie thriller with elements of horror.
In the first trailer for Bones and All, a forthcoming horror-romance thriller scheduled to hit theatres this November, Timothée Chalamet reteams with Call Me by Your Name director Luca Guadagnino. Chalamet plays Lee in the movie, a young serial murderer who falls in love with Maren (Taylor Russell), a runaway from society’s fringes who also enjoys cannibalism.
The teaser, which is set to the tune “You Want It Darker” by Leonard Cohen, gives viewers a peek of Lee and Maren’s journey across Reagan-era America as they speed over picturesque open plains and pounce on any unwary prey unlucky enough to cross their path.
There are a surprisingly large number of films that depict cannibalism, ranging from The Green Inferno from 2013 and Raw from 2016 to The Silence of the Lambs and The Neon Demon. Guadagnino’s movie seems to be taking a cue from Natural Born Killers, with Lee and Maren frantically trying to be together despite the blatant brutality and emotional instability that lie at the core of its very core. When the movie premieres in theatres, we’ll simply have to wait and see how fate treats these two loves.
Bones and All premieres in theaters on Nov. 23.
