The two infected are a couple in their 30s and showed symptoms like fever, muscle aches and headaches said the health experts.

Recombination is a process that takes place when two genomes co-infect a same host cell leading to exchange of genetic segments. This process joins the variants that infected the same cell independently and hence creates new opportunities for the virus to adapt and overcome new environment in the hosts body.
