The Georgia Republican Senate nominee Herschel Walker, facing up against Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock in a pivotal battleground state Senate contest, has come under fire from former President Barack Obama on numerous occasions.

The former president slammed Walker, the former college and professional football player, and first-time candidate, as “a celebrity who wants to be a politician,” while returning to the campaign trail on behalf of fellow Democrats with just over a week to go until Election Day.

Nearly six years after leaving the White House, Obama is still the most famous member of the Democratic Party. As Democrats desperately strive to hold onto their slender congressional majorities in the midterm elections, Obama is trying to work some last-minute political magic. In five states with crucial Senate and gubernatorial races, the former president will serve as the keynote speaker at rallies.

The former president urged the roughly 7,000 people crammed into an arena near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to cast their ballots.

You don’t have to wait until Nov. 8 to cast your ballot, Obama underlined, pointing to the over 15,000 individuals who had already participated in early voting and setting a midterm record in Georgia. Voting is currently open.

The voting rights activist and Democratic gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams, who is taking on Republican Gov. Brian Kemp in a rematch of their 2018 clash, arrived before the former president at the platform. According to polls, the conservative governor has an advantage over Abrams in the upper single digits.

Warnock, the pastor of Atlanta’s Ebenezer Baptist Church, where Martin Luther King Jr. once presided, also welcomed Obama to the platform. The most recent polls indicate that Warnock and Walker are in a statistical tie.

WALKER, CONFRONTED BY NEW ALLEGATIONS, TALKS TO FOX NEWS “THEY’RE NOT STOPPING ME,”

One of the greatest running backs of all time, according to the former president, Herschel Walker was a heck of a football player.

Does that make him your top choice to represent you in the US Senate? Obama posed the question, to which the crowd resoundingly replied “no.”

“In the case of Rev. Warnock’s opponent, there is very little indication that he has shown any interest, bothered to learn anything about, or displayed any type of information toward public service, or volunteer work, or assisting people in any way,” the former president alleged. At least we don’t actually know about it. You are now suspicious because of that.

Obama argued that Walker and his close friend, former President Donald Trump, who was best known as a reality television celebrity and real estate mogul before entering politics and succeeding Obama in the White House, “seem to me he’s a celebrity to who wants to be a politician, and we’ve seen how that goes,” while pointing to both men.

RACE OF SLEEPER SENATE MEMBERS THAT COULD AFFECT THE CHAMBER’S MAJORITY

Obama challenged the crowd, “Who will fight to keep you and your family safe?” in response to repeated GOP assaults on the campaign trail in recent months that claimed Democrats are lax on crime.

He praised Warnock for “working with President Biden to enact the first significant gun safety legislation in nearly 30 years” and criticized Walker for “carrying about a false badge and saying he’s in law enforcement.”

Walker has been under fire for exaggerating his law enforcement experience, and Warnock called him out for flashing an honorary police badge at their one-on-one debate two weeks ago even though the rules forbid using any props.

Before Obama made a visit to Georgia, Walker made fun of him.

Early on Friday, Walker claimed of Warnock, “He’s taking Obama down,” when addressing supporters. Even if he lives here, Obama. Why then would he bring him down here to help him? Obama does not pay local taxes.

Obama should leave the area unless he wants to come and run for Senate as well. Walker claimed, “I would defeat him as well.

Obama will campaign on Saturday in the Midwestern swing states of Michigan and Wisconsin after his appearance in Georgia. The former president, who served two terms in office, will travel to Pennsylvania on November 5 and the purple state of Nevada on Tuesday. Four of the states are hosting crucial Senate elections that will probably determine which party will hold a majority in the chamber moving forward, and four are hosting crucial gubernatorial elections.

Obama’s mission is to try to energize the party’s base given that Democrats are facing historical challenges, including the fact that the party that wins the White House typically suffers significant setbacks in the ensuing midterm elections. Additionally, the political environment is difficult due to record inflation, skyrocketing crime, and a border crisis, and is made worse by President Biden’s improving but still unsatisfactory approval ratings.
