Cardiovascular diseases are a major health concern, as they cause over 17 million deaths each year. CVD is a preventable condition, and following a healthy diet and exercising can help you protect yourself from it.
These 7 habits will help you stay away from heart disease:
1. Eat right
A healthy diet that includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains is believed to help reduce your risk of stroke and heart disease. A study conducted by the University of East Anglia has shown that a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol can reduce the onset of stroke by 17% in all adults. Women saw a greater reduction of 22%. In addition, you can also consume chia seeds which reduce cholesterol levels in the body, and blueberries which reduce the risk of heart disease.
Exercisers who are interested in heart health can choose a high-intensity exercise routine to help avoid heart disease. There is scientific evidence that high-intensity exercise can help lower blood pressure and the risk of developing heart disease in young people.
3. Get enough sleep
