10 FIRST-TIMERS ALONG WITH JISOO, AND SAM BAKER MADE IT TO THE BILLBOARD CHART THIS WEEK

The dream of every artist is to make it to the Billboard. Billboard has 200+ charts and there is a constant rush of artists and their albums on and off the charts. Billboard Hot 100 is for the most popular songs of the week and Billboard is for the most popular album of the week and it is often the A-list artists that appear on these charts.

But when we talk about the upcoming artists and their talent, the billboard provides them a place on the genre-specific list to start off with, and every week numerous artists’ songs make it to the billboard rankings. But this time the chart saw a few first-timers.

On the latest chart that is dated 15 April, 10 artists appeared for the first time. Let us see who these artists are and which song/album of theirs made it to the Billboard charts and in which genre.

  • Jisoo

Member of the South Korean girl band BLACKPINK, Jisoo for the first time made her solo appearance. Jisoo is quite famous in the K-pop industry and among its fans. This South Korean artist was always seen with her band and it was in recent times, she dropped her solos. Jisoo’s first two solos – ‘Flower’ and ‘All Eyes on Me’ made it to the Billboard charts.

  • Luh Tyler

the 17-year-old Tallahassee-based artist’s first mixtape ‘My Vision’, was released on March 31, and debuts at No. 2 on the Heat Seekers Albums chart.

  • Xikers

This South Korean boy band made it to the billboard chart for its new EP House of Tricky: Doorbell Ringing. Hunter, Hyunwoo, Jinsik, Junghoon, Junmin, Minjae, Seeun, Sumin, Yechan, and Yujun are the group members – the group debuted at No. 1 on the Emerging Artists chart. With 13,000 equivalent album sales, it starts at position 4 on the World Albums chart and position 75 on the Billboard 200. 12,000 of that, totally comes from album sales, which helped the compilation debut at No. 7 on the Top Album Sales chart.

  • Sam Barber

With his new single ‘Straight and Narrow’ this 18-year-old singer cum songwriter made it to the Billboard charts. The singer used to go by the name Sam R Barber but after singing for the Atlantic, he dropped the R. His single now debuted at No.24 on Hot Rock Songs and one other.

  • Kid Culture

Kid Culture whose Billboard entries in the past were as a producer, now joined the pack as an artist and this is his first debut on the charts as an artist. With his single ‘Keep It’ he stood at No.39 on Rhythmic Airplay.

  • 6arleyhuman & kets4eki

This collaboration of these two artists in their new ‘Hands Up’ song is a hit and got them to No.20 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.

  • Matt & Mattingly’s Ice Cream Social

These two comedians from LA are on the chart with their album ‘Hey Scoops’ With 13,000 equivalent album sales, it ranked 4 on the World Albums chart and 75 on the Billboard 200. 12,000 of that, totally comes from album sales, which helped the compilation debut at No. 7 on the Top Album Sales chart.

  • Rebzyyx & Hoshie Star

‘All I Want is You’ is the new team-up by these two artists that got them onto the charts. The song, which was released in February 2021 by Last Nite/Arista Records, opens at position 36 on the chart of Hot Dance/Electronic Songs.

This artist’s first chart entry marks with his song ‘A Drop’. It is on the charts at No.12 on Rap Digital Songs Sale and at No.17 on the R&B/HipHop Digital Songs Sale.

  • Musa Keys, Morravey & Logos Olori

All three musical performers achieve their debut chart positions, all on Billboard’s Afrobeat Songs chart of the US. Musa Keys makes an appearance on “Unavailable” at position 8, Morravey on “In the Garden” at position 18, and Logos Olori on “Picasso” at position 31.
